Practice Description

Anthony J. Campiti represents management exclusively in client counseling and litigation. He advises employers on managing employees, workforce training, reductions in force, personnel policies and manuals, employment contracts, covenants not to compete, confidentiality agreements, separation agreements, internal investigations, and compliance with anti-discrimination laws and other employment-related statutes. Mr. Campiti also advises employers regarding labor-and-employment issues arising in mergers and acquisitions. He regularly represents employers in administrative investigations and proceedings, labor arbitrations, and lawsuits involving covenants not to compete, discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful discharge, breach of contract, wage-and-hour violations, family and medical leave violations, and employee theft and trade secrets issues.

Mr. Campiti is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Representations

  • Defended international professional services firm against a declaratory judgment lawsuit in federal court by a senior executive seeking to void his post-employment covenant not to compete and covenant not to solicit clients, including successful avoidance of requested temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction after hearings

  • Obtained summary judgment for national corrugated container manufacturer in a lawsuit claiming disability discrimination, national origin discrimination, workers' compensation retaliation, and intentional infliction of emotional distress

  • Conducted workplace harassment investigations for local bank, local property management company, and healthcare collection management company

  • Obtained a favorable arbitration award for a global medical device and surgical suture company against a union seeking overtime and related remedies for approximately 1,000 employees

  • Obtained summary judgment for a Fortune 100 computer company in a lawsuit claiming sexual harassment, race discrimination, national origin discrimination, and retaliation; affirmed on appeal
