Practice Description
Elizabeth A. Schartz represents management in client counseling and litigation of labor and employment law matters. Her expertise includes litigating discrimination, wage-and-hour, employee benefit, and state-law contract and tort claims; counseling employers on sensitive personnel and complex employment law matters; workplace investigations; employee classification issues; executive compensation, change-in-control, and separation issues; drafting and defense of non-competition and related covenants; and the Occupational Safety and Health Act and the Mine Safety and Health Act. She also represents professional and executive-level employees in negotiating employment and severance agreements and arrangements.
As part of her practice, Ms. Schartz regularly advises companies on the labor and employment aspects of corporate transactions, including management buyouts.
Ms. Schartz is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She chairs the Firm's Labor and Employment Law Practice Group.
