Schwind is recognized in the Projects category for the Latin America-wide and United States regions. He is a Partner in the International Energy Practice Group in the Firm's Houston office and focuses his practice on international energy and natural resources, with a particular emphasis on upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas transactions. Schwind advises clients around the globe, and particularly throughout Latin America and Africa, on oil and gas exploration and production projects, foreign and domestic acquisitions and divestitures of oil and gas producing properties and infrastructure, negotiating oil and gas transportation and processing arrangements, and structuring crude oil processing agreements for petrochemical facilities. Fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and French, he previously practiced law in Brazil and studied at the Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de São Paulo.

Valera is included in the Projects category for the United States. He is a Partner in the International Energy Practice Group in the Firm's Houston office and focuses his practice on energy project development and transactions. He has more than 25 years of experience representing oil, gas, and power companies throughout the United States, Central America, South America, Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. Valera represents oil companies on exploration and production contracts, investment and development projects, acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures, and LNG regasification projects. His representation of power companies includes the development of thermal and hydroelectric generation plants. Additionally, Valera has counseled governments around the globe on energy legislative reform matters and privatization transactions related to the energy industry.

Yassine is recognized in the General Business Law: Foreign Legal Consultants category for Algeria. He is a Partner in the Firm's Algiers office and supports companies wishing to do business in North Africa and the Middle East as well as clients from those regions wishing to do business with international companies. He represents public and private companies and host governments in their strategic design, commercial execution, negotiations, contract preparation, and legal interpretation. Yassine is also involved in upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas investments and transactions, with a particular emphasis on exploration and production, LNG projects, international gas pipelines, and petrochemical projects. He also supports clients in the energy, mining, and water industries and is experienced in the project financing for major banks and investors. Additionally, Yassine advises clients regarding privatizations, mergers and acquisitions, setting up companies, and general corporate and labor matters.
