T&K Attorneys Named Best Lawyers' 2010 Lawyers of the Year
Texas - The global law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce The Best Lawyers in America® by Woodward/White Inc. has named three of the Firm's Partners as "Lawyer of the Year" in their respective areas of practice. The attorneys are:
- Gregory S.C. Huffman, Dallas Antitrust Lawyer of the Year
- John H. Martin, Dallas Personal Injury Litigator of the Year
- Emily A. Parker, Dallas Tax Lawyer of the Year
The publication designates one "Lawyer of the Year" by practice area in major metropolitan regions across the nation. This year, the publication honored 17 attorneys in the Dallas area based on consistently high ratings in peer-based surveys for legal abilities, professionalism, and integrity.

Mr. Huffman is the head of the Firm's antitrust practice area and has been with the Firm for more than 35 years. He has tried many precedent-setting cases and has been the author of amendments of both federal and state antitrust laws. Mr. Huffman is a frequent speaker and author on antitrust, complex litigation, and professional topics.
Mr. Martin is a member of the Firm's Complex Tort and Products Liability Practice Group. He has been with the Firm for 35 years and is widely recognized for his legal work and public speaking on the subjects of catastrophic injury, mass tort, and aviation litigation. Mr. Martin is one of the state's most distinguished attorneys in the civil defense field and recently served as President of DRI-The Voice of the Defense Bar, an international organization of more than 22,500 defense trial lawyers and corporate counsel.
Ms. Parker is a member of the Firm's Tax Practice Group. She has been with the Firm for her entire career of more than 35 years, except for serving as Acting Chief Counsel and Deputy Chief Counsel for the IRS for two years. She has represented clients in a number of precedent-setting cases that decided important industry issues and developed previously unsettled issues of tax law. Ms. Parker is Board Certified in Tax Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
