LateralsOur program ranked #3 in Houston in The American Lawyer's 2011 Summer Associate survey! Our Houston office summer program offers many opportunities for social interaction among Summer Associates and attorneys. We opened our Houston office in 1991, and it has since grown to more than 75 lawyers today.
In addition to working on substantive and meaningful projects with both Partners and Associates, Summer Associates receive formal training and evaluation programs, laptop computers, window offices, paid parking, and paperless timesheets and work logs, and participate in exciting social functions. We believe that our social functions build strong working relationships between our attorneys and the future of our Firm. Recent events have included dinner parties at Partners' homes, wine tastings, cooking classes, concerts, sporting events, golf and spa afternoons, women's initiative parties, functions with the Houston Bar Association, and community service projects.
The Houston Summer Associate program is a 6-week, first-half only program. Students are required to spend the full 6 weeks at the Firm. Summer Associates in our Houston office work with the following areas of practice:
- Corporate and Securities
- Corporate Reorganization and Creditors' Rights
- Finance
- International Energy
- Oil & Gas
- Real Estate and Banking
- Tax, Benefits, and Estate Planning
- Trial and Appellate
