Tim Hudson has more than a decade of experience helping clients navigate complex legal challenges in state and federal trial courts. He currently serves as National Coordinating Counsel for a worldwide medical device manufacturer, responsible for coordinating with defense counsel on matters relating to discovery, deposition preparation strategies, motion practice, and trial strategy.

Tim's litigation practice is wide-ranging, as he also handles business litigation, intellectual property, securities litigation, class actions defense, data privacy and cybersecurity, and matters before government agencies such as the Securities and Exchange Commission.

  • Serves as National Coordinating Counsel for a worldwide medical device manufacturer
  • Represents one of the world's largest and most diversified healthcare product manufacturers in product liability cases
  • Obtained a complete jury defense verdict for a major medical device manufacturer in a case involving claims of strict products liability and negligence in Missouri state court (Plaintiffs’ request for new trial pending on appeal)
  • Obtained a complete jury defense verdict for a major medical device manufacturer in a case involving claims of strict products liability and negligence in Florida federal court
  • Obtained a complete jury defense verdict for a major medical device manufacturer in a case involving claims of strict products liability, negligence, and breach of warranty in Arkansas federal court
  • Obtained dismissal in federal court for a major medical device manufacturer in a case involving claims of strict products liability and negligence
  • Assisted in the defense of a major medical device manufacturer at trial in Florida state court, which resulted in favorable settlement before closing arguments
  • Assisted in the defense of multiple matters for a major medical device manufacturer in court proceedings and at trial in Texas state courts

Intellectual Property

  • Assisted in the defense of a leading wireless handset manufacturer and telecommunications infrastructure-equipment company in a patent infringement lawsuit relating to cellular transmission protocols in the Eastern District of Texas; obtained jury verdict of non-infringement and invalidity of all asserted patent claims
  • Assisted in the defense of a semiconductor developer in Section 337 proceeding in the U.S. International Trade Commission relating to bonding-pad technology; obtained initial determination of invalidity of all asserted patent claims
  • Assisted in the defense of an international telecommunications equipment company in a patent infringement action relating to asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) switching technology
  • Defended an international telecommunications equipment company in a patent infringement action
  • Defending a nutritional supplement company in Florida state court litigation involving claims of misappropriation of trade secrets and breach of contract
  • Defended a national gas manufacturer in state court litigation involving claims for injunctive relief, misappropriation of trade secrets, violations of Texas Theft Liability Act, and breach of contract
  • Defeated efforts by an opposing party in a trade secret and non-competition case to enjoin our client from competing

Securities and Corporate Governance Litigation

  • Represented former NASDAQ-listed oil and gas company and former executives in lawsuits related to $4.4 billion tender offer and merger, including injunction and class certification hearings
  • Assisted in representation of former Chief Financial Officer of a national energy company in a Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement action
  • Represented court-appointed Receiver in securities fraud action/receivership, styled SEC v. W Financial Group, LLC, Adley H. Abdulwahab a/k/a Adley Wahab, Michael K. Wallens, Sr., and Michael K. Wallens, Jr., handling asset collection and liquidation issues
  • Assisted in representation of court-appointed Receiver in [SEC v. Stanford International Bank], handling domestic office closures and liquidation issues

  • Assisted in representation of the audit committee of a national freight forwarding company in formal investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission on issues raised by the Sarbanes Oxley Act
  • Represented oil and gas partnership in formal investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission
  • Represented oil and gas partnership and its former national wholesaler in formal investigation by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority

Complex Business Litigation and Other Representative Matters

  • Obtained complete dismissal of all claims, including breach of contract and tortious interference with contract, against a private educational system in Illinois state court in a case involving claimed multimillion dollar damages
  • Obtained favorable settlement for corporation providing computer-assisted legal research in case involving claims of breach of contract, vicarious liability, fraud, and forgery
  • Obtained a complete defense verdict at trial for a commercial tenant of a shopping center in a suit brought by the landlord for breach of contract
  • Obtained summary judgment for a real estate company in multiple cases involving claims for past and future rents under a long-term lease
  • Represented individuals in litigation involving disputes over interpretation of family estate planning documents
  • Represented an attorney in a case alleging legal malpractice and violations of fiduciary duty in connection with the administration of an estate
  • Defending a company that provides management services to continuing care retirement communities in a case involving claims of breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, and promissory estoppel
  • Obtained temporary restraining order on behalf of a national transportation company causing competitor to cease contacts with certain customers
  • Represented a telecommunications company in a lawsuit involving claims for business disparagement, breach of contract, and fraudulent inducement
  • Obtained summary judgment for owners of a commercial property center in a matter involving dispute to ownership of property and enforcement of restrictive covenants
  • Representing a bank in state court litigation involving claims of breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, negligence, and breach of contract
