  • Assisted in the defense of a major medical device manufacturer at trial in Florida state court

  • Obtained dismissal in federal court for major medical device manufacturer in a case involving claims of strict liability and negligence

  • Resolved strict liability, negligence and breach of express and implied warranties matter for major medical device manufacturer

Securities and Corporate Governance Litigation

  • Representing former NASDAQ-listed oil and gas company and former executives in lawsuits related to $4.4 billion tender offer and merger, including injunction and class certification hearings

  • Assisted in representation of former Chief Financial Officer of a national energy company in a Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement action

  • Represented court-appointed Receiver in securities fraud action/receivership, styled SEC v. W Financial Group, LLC, Adley H. Abdulwahab a/k/a Adley Wahab, Michael K. Wallens, Sr., and Michael K. Wallens, Jr., handling asset collection and liquidation issues

  • Assisted in representation of court-appointed Receiver in SEC v. Stanford International Bank, handling domestic office closures and liquidation issues

  • Assisted in representation of the audit committee of a national freight forwarding company in formal investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission on issues raised by the Sarbanes Oxley Act

  • Represented former national wholesaler of oil and gas company in formal investigation by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority

Intellectual Property

  • Assisting in representation of major semiconductor manufacturer in proceedings before the U.S. International Trade Commission
  • Assisted in defense of international telecommunications equipment company in patent infringement action relating to asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) switching technology
  • Defending international telecommunications equipment company in patent infringement action
  • Defending national gas manufacturer in state court litigation involving claims for injunctive relief, misappropriation of trade secrets, violations of Texas Theft Liability Act, and breach of contract
  • Defeated efforts by an opposing party in a trade secret and non-competition case to enjoin our client from competing

Complex Business Litigation and Other Representative Matters

  • Obtained a complete defense verdict at trial for a commercial tenant of a shopping center in a suit brought by the landlord for breach of contract

  • Represented an attorney in a case alleging legal malpractice and violations of fiduciary duty in connection with the administration of an estate

  • Obtained temporary restraining order on behalf of national transportation company causing competitor to cease contacts with certain customers

  • Represented a telecommunications company in a lawsuit involving claims for business disparagement, breach of contract and fraudulent inducement

  • Obtained summary judgment for owners of a commercial property center in a matter involving dispute to ownership of property and enforcement of restrictive covenants

  • Representing a bank in state court litigation involving claims of breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, negligence and breach of contract
