Claudio Rodríguez focuses his practice on energy and infrastructure matters. He represents international energy companies doing business in Mexico, including with regard to wind, solar, cogeneration, combined-cycle, pipeline, LNG, nuclear, geothermal, and transmission projects. Claudio has extensive experience representing developers, procurement firms, producers, investors, contractors, suppliers, and multilateral institutions in all phases of the development, M&A, and financing of energy projects. He advises clients regarding complex regulatory issues and project development, EPC, O&M, supply contracts, M&A, services agreements, hydrocarbon transportation agreements, self-supply agreements, and power purchase agreements (PPA) in the power, renewable, and gas sectors.
Claudio has participated in the alternative dispute resolution mechanisms contained in such contracts and, in particular, has coordinated and successfully presented technical witness proceedings before CFE.
According to Chambers Latin America 2016 by Chambers and Partners, Claudio “is highlighted by market sources for his work regarding gas pipelines, electric power, and construction projects” and is praised by peers for his “expertise in the sector.”
