Claudio Rodríguez serves as the Firm’s Mexico City Office Leader and focuses his practice on energy and infrastructure matters. He represents international energy companies doing business in Mexico, including with regard to wind, solar, cogeneration, combined-cycle, pipeline, LNG, nuclear, geothermal, and transmission projects. Claudio is considered by peers and clients as a pragmatic and business-oriented attorney who quickly understands the effects of complex regulation on his clients’ businesses, including those derived from the Mexican Energy Reform.
Claudio has extensive experience representing developers, procurement firms, producers, investors, contractors, suppliers, and multilateral institutions in all phases of the development, M&A, and financing of energy projects. He advises clients regarding complex regulatory issues and project development, EPC, O&M, supply contracts, M&A, services agreements, hydrocarbon transportation agreements, self-supply agreements, and power purchase agreements (PPA) in the power, renewable, and gas sectors.
According to Chambers Latin America 2019 by Chambers and Partners, Claudio is “consistently highlighted by peers as a significant practitioner in the power sector.” Furthermore, according to The Legal 500 Mexico 2017 by Legalease, Claudio is “singled out for his ‘ample level of knowledge and excellent customer service.’”
