Jasmine Wynton represents clients in a variety of business litigation matters in state and federal courts, with an emphasis on defending companies in civil disputes involving allegations of breach of contract, fraud, negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, tortious interference with contracts and employment discrimination.  In addition, Jasmine advises clients on compliance with state and federal anti-discrimination laws and other employment-related statutes.


  • Represented a propane tank exchange company in state court lawsuit brought by a competitor alleging defamation, business disparagement, and tortious interference breach of contract claims, including successfully opposing a request for a temporary restraining order, resulting in a voluntary dismissal of all claims by opposing party
  • Represented two former directors of an oil and gas exploration and production company in state court lawsuit brought by the company for fraudulent transfer and breach of fiduciary duty, including managing discovery and motions practice, working with a testifying expert to prepare expert report, among other tasks, resulting in voluntary dismissal of all claims with prejudice by plaintiff
  • Represented major aeronautics defense contractor in federal court lawsuits involving age, disability, race, and gender discrimination claims
  • Defended online travel companies in nationwide litigation brought by state and local municipalities in federal and state courts, seeking to extend hotel room rental taxes to their internet travel reservations services
  • Defended home health agency in Department of Justice criminal healthcare fraud investigation
  • Represented an officer of a real estate investment company in parallel Department of Justice and Securities & Exchange Commission investigations involving allegations of violations of federal securities laws
  • Represented prisoner in 42 U.S.C. § 1983 civil rights lawsuit alleging denial of medical care and use of excessive force in federal district court
  • Defended Fortune 500 companies in complex, multistate, unclaimed property audits and advised clients on unclaimed property planning, including gift card and loyalty programs
  • Defended a privately held information company in a proposed nationwide privacy class action brought under the federal Driver’s Privacy Protection Act
  • Represented clients in various pro bono matters, including successfully representing indigent litigants on appeal in the Texas Supreme Court in an ultra-vires action challenging a county district clerk’s practice of collecting court costs from indigent litigants; representing a Rwandan client in administrative defensive-asylum proceedings; and counseling a national nonprofit organization in a commercial real estate dispute
