Client Alert: Judge Orders EEOC to Collect Pay Data from Employers by September 30, 2019

Today, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ordered the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”) to collect 2018 pay data from mid-and large-sized employers by September 30, 2019.  The court allowed the EEOC to choose whether it would also require employers to provide 2017 pay data by the September 30, 2019 deadline or whether it would require submission of 2019 pay data in 2020.  The EEOC must notify the court of its election by May 3, 2019.
