Client Alert: FAA Gives Green Light to Commercial Operation of Drones

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued its long-awaited regulations governing the operation of small unmanned aircraft (UAS), also known as drones.  The rules apply to unmanned aircraft weighing less than 55 pounds that are being used for non-recreational purposes and will take effect in late August of this year.  The operational limitations set by the FAA are designed to minimize risk to others operating in the air and those on the ground.
