“Dallas Hispanic Law Foundation awards scholarships to Latino law school students”
Currently, about 4 percent of all Dallas County lawyers are Latinos, according to the 2014 report of the Dallas Diversity Task Force — a collaborative effort of five bar associations in Dallas, including associations for Asians, women, and gays and lesbians.
Latinos represent more than 40 percent of the county’s population, according to recent census reports.
“By establishing scholarships, grants and internships to support law students of Hispanic heritage, not only are we furthering the advancement of Hispanics in the legal profession, but we are also helping to build a pipeline of ethnically diverse individuals in the profession,” said Adrienne E. Dominguez, board member and chair of the scholarships committee for the Hispanic Law Foundation.
“Broadening this base makes our communities better places to live and work for everyone.”
