David Bennett Quoted in The Deal on Life Partners Fees

“Judge Approves $25.3M Fee for Law Firm in Life Partners’ Case”

Despite the U.S. Trustee’s objection, the judge presiding over the Life Partners Holdings Inc. bankruptcy case approved $25.3 million in fees and expenses for the Thompson & Knight LLP law firm.

On Tuesday, March 7, Judge Russell Nelms of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas in Fort Worth granted the fee request for the firm that represented trustee Tom Moran in the contentious and long-running bankruptcy case for the Waco, Texas, life settlement firm.

“We are very pleased with the court’s ruling,” Bennett said.
