Dean Hinderliter joined Thompson & Knight’s Dallas office, where he’ll continue to advise clients of all sizes on the tax aspects of corporate mergers, divestitures, public offerings, reorganizations and other transactions. Hinderliter’s transaction planning practice includes special knowledge in the taxation of oil and gas and of the unique tax issues that face the mortgage industry.
Hinderliter’s work also includes advising on tax aspects of private equity investments, leveraged buyouts, the formation of joint ventures and S corporation issues. He has advised entities that include partnerships, private equity funds, hedge funds and limited liability companies. And he advises financially troubled and bankrupt companies and tax-exempt organizations and private foundations.
Before Hinderliter joined Locke Lord, he spent about 12 years as a tax partner for Dallas-based Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr PC. He started his legal career as an associate at Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP.
