Fred Fulton Quoted in St. Louis Post-Dispatch on RadioShack

“No lump-sum payments to laid-off RadioShack workers”

About two months before it filed for bankruptcy, RadioShack Corp. adjusted its severance policy to remove the requirement to make lump-sum payments to laid-off workers.

Companies in desperate need of liquidity find it wherever they can get it, said Fred Fulton, a partner at law firm Thompson & Knight.

“Those laid-off employees may see some money from their claims, but probably not when they need to pay next month’s rent,” Fulton said.
