“FIRST TEXAS PACE PROGRAM CREATED TODAY”
Today the Travis County Commissioners Court established Texas’ first PACE program under SB 385, the Texas Property Assessed Clean Energy Act of 2013. Commissioner Gerald Daugherty (R) and Commissioner Brigid Shea (D) cosponsored the resolution, which was adopted by unanimous vote.
The commissioners received letters of support from Austin Mayor Steve Adler, the Texas Association of Business, and dozens of local organizations and businesses. Tax Assessor Collector Bruce Elfant championed the PACE program and led off the hearing. Testifying in support of the PACE program were Jim Morriss, Partner, Thompson & Knight and board member of Keeping PACE in Texas, Mansoor Ghori, Petros Capital, Ed Sayers, Simon Property, Doug Lewin, SPEER, Dub Taylor, State Energy Conservation Office, and Charlene Heydinger, Keeping PACE in Texas.
