The reform initiative to prohibit labor subcontracting in Mexico could be replaced by a more effective control, the firm Thomson & Knight considered.
“More than prohibiting the activity, it must be the object of an effective control; instead of that, they prefer to close the door ”, the partner of the tax practice, Mario Barrera, considered in an interview with EL UNIVERSAL.
He affirmed that the analysis in the Congress of the Union should be qualified so that there are more control mechanisms. He mentioned that, currently, the legal framework is ideal to combat illegal practices taking advantage of this figure, so it was not necessary to “kill” outsourcing.
“There is already the legal framework for criminal proceedings in the cases that warrant it.”
