DALLAS — The law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce Jessica S. Morrison has been selected as a 2019 Great Women of Texas honoree by the Fort Worth Business Press. The publication annually honors outstanding women in Texas who have made significant accomplishments in business, civic, and social causes.
Ms. Morrison, a Partner in the Tax Practice Group in the Firm’s Fort Worth office, counsels public, private, and non-profit employers and fiduciaries on employee benefits, executive compensation, and taxation matters. This work includes assisting clients with retirement plans, health and welfare plans, executive compensation arrangements, tax reporting and disputes, and transactions.
Ms. Morrison is one of only ten young lawyers recently selected from across the nation to participate in the Real Property, Trust, and Estate Law Fellows program of the American Bar Association. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas Tax Section and Vice-Chair of its Employee Benefits Committee. She has been selected for inclusion in Texas Rising Stars® by Thomson Reuters (2017-2019) and Fort Worth’s “Top Attorneys” by Fort Worth, Texas magazine (2014, 2016-2018).
Her civic and philanthropic work includes serving as President of the Board of Directors of The Parenting Center, as a Fort Worth City Council appointee to its Community Development Council, and as a member of the 2018-2019 Executive Leadership Team of the American Heart Association’s Fort Worth Heart Ball.
Ms. Morrison earned her J.D., with honors, from The University of Texas School of Law and her B.S. in Genetics, cum laude, from Texas A&M University.
