DALLAS — The law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce Jessica S. Morrison has been selected to participate in the Real Property, Trust, and Estate Law (RPTE) Fellows program of the American Bar Association (ABA). Ms. Morrison is one of only ten young lawyers selected from across the nation to be a RPTE Fellow. She will serve a two-year term from 2019 to 2021.
As a Fellow, Ms. Morrison will engage in the substantive work of the RPTE Section of the ABA while developing leadership skills to enhance her practice. She will receive mentorship from a committee chair, participate in a section project, serve on the membership committee, and attend section leadership meetings.
A Tax Partner in the Firm’s Fort Worth office, Ms. Morrison counsels public, private, and non-profit employers and fiduciaries on employee benefits, executive compensation, and taxation matters. She assists clients with retirement plans, health and welfare plans, executive compensation arrangements, tax reporting and disputes, and transactions.
In addition to her involvement with the ABA’s RPTE and Tax Sections, Ms. Morrison is a member of the State Bar of Texas Tax Section and Vice-Chair of its Employee Benefits Committee. She has been selected for inclusion in Texas Rising Stars® by Thomson Reuters (2017-2019) and Fort Worth’s “Top Attorneys” by Fort Worth, Texas magazine (2014, 2016-2018). Ms. Morrison earned her J.D., with honors, from The University of Texas School of Law and her B.S. in Genetics, cum laude, from Texas A&M University.
