DALLAS — The law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce Megan H. Schmid has been named to the Board of Directors of Young Audiences, Inc. of Houston. The organization is an independent chapter of the nation’s leading arts-in-education advocacy group, with programs dedicated to making the arts an integral part of the school curriculum and supporting teacher professional development training and community partnerships.
Ms. Schmid is a Partner in the Firm’s Houston office and a member of the Trial Practice Group. She focuses her practice on federal and state trials and arbitrations involving energy, real estate, commercial landlord-tenant, financial and lending institutions, partnership disputes, business torts, construction, and general business and commercial litigation.
Actively involved in professional and community organizations, Ms. Schmid also serves on the Board of Trustees for The Women’s Resource of Greater Houston, is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, and is a member of the Houston Bar Association and the Houston Young Lawyers Association.
Earlier this year she was recognized among the “40 Under 40” class by the Houston Business Journal and has been included in Texas Rising Stars for business litigation for four consecutive years. Ms. Schmid received her J.D., summa cum laude, from Tulane University Law School and a B.A. in Theater, summa cum laude, from Southwestern University.
