DALLAS – The law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce Megan H. Schmid has been named one of the Houston Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 honorees for 2019.
Ms. Schmid is a Partner in the Firm’s Houston office and a member of the Trial Practice Group. She focuses her practice on federal and state trials and arbitrations involving energy, real estate, commercial landlord-tenant, financial and lending institutions, partnership disputes, business torts, construction, and general business and commercial litigation. Ms. Schmid received her J.D., summa cum laude, from Tulane University Law School and a B.A. in Theater, summa cum laude, from Southwestern University.
Actively involved in professional and community organizations, Ms. Schmid serves on the Board of Trustees for The Women’s Resource of Greater Houston and is a member of Young Audiences Houston. She is also a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and a member of the Houston Bar Association and the Houston Young Lawyers Association; she has been named to Texas Rising Stars® by Thomson Reuters (2016-2019).
This year, HBJ received more than 500 nominations for the 40 Under 40 class; to be considered, nominees had to reside in the 10-county Houston area and be under 40 years of age as of December 31, 2018. A panel of judges from across industries scored the nominees on leadership, overcoming challenges, and community involvement. All of the 40 honorees will be recognized at an event on June 13 as well as in a special section of HBJ’s June 14 weekly edition.
