Thompson & Knight Partner Receives Women of Distinction Award from Girl Scouts

DALLAS — The law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce Partner Jessica S. Morrison has been selected to receive the 2019 Women of Distinction “Discover” Award by the Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains. The Women of Distinction Awards honors the ethical leadership, professional accomplishments, and community contributions of local leaders.

Ms. Morrison is a Tax Partner in the Firm’s Fort Worth office. She counsels public, private and non-profit employers, and fiduciaries on employee benefits, executive compensation, and taxation matters. She assists clients with retirement plans, health and welfare plans, executive compensation arrangements, tax reporting and disputes, and transactions.

Ms. Morrison has been selected for inclusion Texas Rising Stars® by Thomson Reuters (2017-2019) and Fort Worth’s “Top Attorneys” by Fort Worth, Texas magazine (2014, 2016-2018). She also is involved in several civic and professional organizations. She serves as President of the Board of Directors for The Parenting Center; is a member of the Fort Worth Community Development Council, and American Heart Association Heart Ball Executive Leadership Team; and was a participant in the SteerFW Keyholders Program in 2018. She is a member of the American Bar Association Tax Section, State Bar of Texas Tax Section and Employee Benefits Committee, Tarrant County Bar Association and Women Attorneys Section, Tarrant County Young Lawyers Association, Worldwide Employee Benefits Network, Fort Worth Human Resource Management Association, and SouthWest Benefits Association.
