Dallas – Thompson & Knight LLP assisted Fisterra Energy, a subsidiary of The Blackstone Group, in the sale of the Mexican holding companies of Ventika, Mexico’s largest onshore wind farm and one of the largest wind farms in Latin America. The Mexican holding companies of Ventika were sold to Infraestructura Energética Nova, S.A.B. de C.V. (“IEnova”), a subsidiary of Sempra Energy. The transaction closed on December 15, 2016.
Located in the northeastern Mexican state of Nuevo Leon, Ventika began commercial operation in April 2016 and is comprised of two 126 megawatt (MW) wind farms with a total capacity of 252 MW and 84 wind turbines.
