Dallas – Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce that Justin S. Cohen has been appointed Chair of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (“AIPLA”) Education Committee. He will serve a two-year term, which began in October 2015.
Cohen is an Associate in the Intellectual Property Practice Group of the Firm’s Dallas office. He focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation and counseling, primarily in the areas of software, electrical, mechanical, telecommunications, and semiconductor technologies. He has represented clients in various patent, copyright, and trademark litigation in a variety of federal district courts, before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and in the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. He also helps clients identify, evaluate, license, and enforce their intellectual property assets, and has extensive expertise counseling companies with cybersecurity and data privacy issues.
In addition to his involvement with AIPLA, Cohen serves as a Board Member for the Arts Counsel Texas, and a member of the Federal, American, and Dallas Bar Associations. He has been recognized for his legal work in Texas Rising Stars® by Thomson Reuters (2015).
