“Fed. Circ. Largely Backs Patent Ruling Against Alcatel-Lucent”
Law360 (May 8, 2018, 8:15 PM EDT) — The Federal Circuit on Tuesday mostly affirmed an Eastern District of Texas ruling that Alcatel-Lucent infringed a set of patents on Ethernet technology, keeping intact a nearly $325,000 damages verdict against the telecommunications company.
In a nonprecedential 26-page opinion, the panel found that Alcatel-Lucent infringed three out of four patents owned by patent holding company Chrimar Holding Co. LLC. The panel vacated the jury’s verdict on the fourth patent, however, finding that the district court used an incorrect claim construction for a term and remanding the case for further proceedings on that term.
…Chrimar is represented by Justin S. Cohen, Adrienne E. Dominguez, J. Michael Heinlen and Richard L. Wynne Jr. of Thompson & Knight LLP, and Richard W. Hoffman of Reising Ethington PC.
