Dallas – The law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce Stephen W. Grant Jr. and Mitchell L. Griffith have joined the Firm as Associates in the Corporate and Securities Practice Group.

Mr. Grant joined the Firm’s Houston office as an Associate in the Corporate and Securities Practice Group. He focuses his practice on securities offerings, private equity, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate representation, with extensive energy industry experience. His capital markets experience includes the representation of both issuers and underwriters in initial public offerings as well as public and private offerings of equity and debt securities. Mr. Grant also works with private equity investors, their portfolio companies, and a variety of other public and private companies in connection with mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, and strategic investments. He received a J.D., magna cum laude, from Tulane University School of Law in 2010 and a B.S., summa cum laude, in Finance from Louisiana State University in 2007. Prior to joining Thompson & Knight, Mr. Grant was an Associate at Vinson & Elkins LLP (2010-2016) in Houston.
Mr. Griffith joined the Firm’s Dallas office as an Associate in the Corporate and Securities Practice Group. He focuses his practice on corporate and securities transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, corporate governance, and general corporate representation. His experience includes equity financings for privately and publicly held companies, reporting obligations under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, stock and asset acquisitions, joint ventures, compliance with corporate governance regulations, and public and private securities offerings. He received a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2010 and a B.B.A., with honors, in Finance and B.A., with honors, in Government from The University of Texas at Austin in 2007. Prior to joining Thompson & Knight, he was a Counsel at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP in Dallas (2012-2016) and an Associate at Haynes and Boone LLP in Dallas (2010-2012).
