Riverstone, Goldman JV Pays $1.6B for NM Gas Assets
A joint venture involving funds managed by Riverstone Holdings LLC and Goldman Sachs’ merchant banking division will pay $1.6 billion to take over natural gas assets in New Mexico from Lucid Energy Group and private equity backer EnCap Flatrock Midstream, the energy company said on Monday.
Lucid Energy Group II LLC, the company that holds the natural gas assets, is represented by a Vinson & Elkins LLP team including tax partners Jason McIntosh, David Cole and Ryan Carney. Lucid II management is also represented by a Kirkland & Ellis LLP team including tax partner Mark Dundon.
EnCap Flatrock Midstream is advised on tax matters by a Thompson & Knight LLP team including partners Todd Lowther and Roger Aksamit and associates Jana Benson and Jackson Oliver.
