T&K Names Mexico City Office Leader

Dallas – The law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP has named Claudio Rodríguez Galán to serve as Office Leader of the Firm’s Mexico City office.

“Thompson & Knight has more than 35 years of experience representing clients in Latin America, and remains committed to the Latin American market,” said Mark M. Sloan, the Firm’s Managing Partner. “Under Claudio’s leadership, the Firm’s Mexico City office will continue to serve U.S., Mexican, and international clients currently doing business, or considering doing business, in Mexico and elsewhere in Latin America.”

Mr. Rodríguez is an International Energy Partner in the Firm’s Mexico City office where he focuses his practice on energy and infrastructure matters. He represents international energy companies doing business in Mexico, including with regard to wind, solar, cogeneration, combined-cycle, pipeline, LNG, nuclear, geothermal, and transmission projects. Also, he advises clients regarding complex regulatory issues and project development, EPC, O&M, supply contracts, M&A, services agreements, hydrocarbon transportation agreements, self-supply agreements, and power purchase agreements in the power, renewable, and gas sectors.

An active member of the Mexican Bar Association, he is the former chairman of the Energy Committee. In addition, Mr. Rodríguez is the chair of the International Affairs Committee for the Mexican Academy of Energy Law and a member of the International Bar Association. In academia, he has taught various international law courses at multiple universities in Mexico. Mr. Rodríguez is fluent in English, Portuguese, and a native Spanish speaker.
