T&K Partner Appointed Vice Chair of Dallas Judicial Nomination Commission

Dallas – The law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce Nicole Williams has been appointed Vice Chair of the Dallas Judicial Nomination Commission (“JNC”). She begins serving her term on February 1, 2017. 

Ms. Williams is a Partner in the Trial Practice Group of Thompson & Knight’s Dallas office, and focuses her practice on litigation and counseling on matters involving antitrust, advertising, RICO, gaming, banking, title curative issues, and other complex commercial disputes and government investigations. She represents clients before federal and state trial and appellate courts as well as in arbitration proceedings.

In addition to her role with JNC, she also fosters the development of Dallas youth as a Mock Trial Coach at James Madison High School and is Secretary of the Executive Board of Directors for Rainbow Days. An active participant in legal and professional organizations, Williams serves as Deputy Chair of the Antitrust Section of the Federal Bar Association; Past Chair of the Dallas Bar Association Antitrust Section Leadership Council; a member of the Antitrust & Business Litigation Council for the State Bar of Texas; and a member of the American and Dallas Bar Associations. She has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® by Woodward/White Inc. (2016-2017), Texas Super Lawyers® by Thomson Reuters (2014-2016), and “Under 40 Hot List” by Benchmark: Litigation, The Definitive Guide to America’s Leading Litigation Firms & Attorneys (2016).

Dallas JNC serves as an advisory body to the City Council in matters related to: the filling of municipal judge vacancies, the reappointment of current municipal judges, salary recommendations for municipal judges, the implementation of a merit evaluation system for the appointment and reappointment of municipal judges, the filling of administrative law judges, salary recommendations for administrative law judges, and recommendations for improvements in Court and Detention Services.
