Dallas – The law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce that Ted M. Benn has been elected Chair of the Downtown Dallas Inc. (“DDI”) Board of Directors. DDI is a nonprofit organization that acts as the principal advocate, champion, and steward of Downtown Dallas. Prior to his election to Chair, Mr. Benn served as Treasurer and an Executive Committee Member of DDI.

It is a critical time for DDI – especially with implementing approved updates to our 360 Strategic Plan – and I can’t think of anyone better to help us achieve our goals.”
Mr. Benn is a Partner in the Real Estate and Banking Practice Group in the Firm’s Dallas office. He counsels clients on a wide variety of real estate, corporate, and general business matters, including mergers, stock and asset acquisitions and divestitures, partnerships and joint ventures, debt and equity financings, lease transactions, management and consulting arrangements, and real estate developments. He has significant experience in the hospitality, golf and private club, multi-family property, real estate development, and wind and solar energy industries. Currently, much of his time is spent assisting clients with large wind and solar projects and real estate development activities.
In addition to his role as Chair of the Board of Directors for DDI, Mr. Benn is the immediate past chairman of the National Club Association. He is a member of the American and Dallas Bar Associations and has been selected for inclusion in Texas Super Lawyers® by Thomson Reuters (2010-2017) and The Best Lawyers in America® by Woodward/White Inc. (2012-2018). Prior to joining Thompson & Knight, Mr. Benn served as Associate Counsel for ClubCorp, Inc. (1993-1997).
