Dallas – The law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce Katie Coleman has been named to the Gulf Coast Power Association (“GCPA”) Board of Directors. She will serve a two-year term. Ms. Coleman also serves as Vice Chair of GCPA’s Empowering Women Committee for the 2018 Empowering Women Conference.
Ms. Coleman is a Partner in the Austin office of Thompson & Knight, representing clients in a broad range of energy litigation and transactions. She has extensive experience in regulatory and administrative law, with a focus on state and federal energy regulation, energy markets, and government affairs. Ms. Coleman is outside counsel for statewide trade associations of large industrial electricity users in matters before the Public Utility Commission, ERCOT, and the Texas legislature. Also, she routinely assists individual companies with regulatory compliance and diligence in contracting and infrastructure projects, including structuring energy agreements, joint ownership agreements for privately owned electrical facilities, energy supply agreements, and cogeneration agreements. She has been included in Chambers USA by Chambers & Partners for Energy: State Regulatory & Litigation (2015-16), and has been named to Texas Rising Stars® by Thomson Reuters for Legislative and Governmental Affairs (2016). She is also the President of the Public Utility Law Section of the State Bar of Texas for 2017-18.
