Ms. Brandt is Co-Chair of the Intellectual Property Practice Group. She represents national and international clients in intellectual property disputes before federal trial and appellate courts, the International Trade Commission, and before arbitration panels. Her practice includes patent validity and infringement, licensing, unfair competition, trademark and copyright, trade secret disputes, and document retention. In addition to her intellectual property practice, Ms. Brandt focuses on legal issues impacting the art industry. Mr. Ciccarelli focuses his practice on complex intellectual property litigation in the areas of patents, trademarks, trade dress, product configuration, copyrights, trade secrets, unfair competition, and antitrust. He also assists clients with licensing, non-infringement and invalidity opinions, and a variety of complex United States Patent Office proceedings. Mr. Ciccarelli counsels both mature and start-up companies on identifying, developing, and leveraging the value of their technology and other intellectual property assets. His expertise includes a wide variety of technologies and geographical areas (both in the U.S. and around the world). He has been recognized by numerous publications for his outstanding legal work, including The Best Lawyers in America® by Woodward/White Inc. Mr. Sostek is Co-Chair of Thompson & Knight’s Intellectual Property Practice Group. His principal focus is on patent litigation, with an emphasis in telecommunications, microelectronics, and oil and gas technology; he also handles complex commercial litigation matters; and counsels clients on strategic uses for intellectual property. He has tried cases involving patent, trademark, and copyright infringement; theft of trade secrets; unfair competition; and related intellectual property issues in federal courts throughout the country and at the International Trade Commission. Mr. Sostek also acts as an arbitrator and mediator of IP issues and counsels clients on the identification, valuation, licensing, and litigation of IP assets and how to use IP to advance strategic business objectives. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, was named the 2016 and 2014 Dallas Technology Law “Lawyer of the Year” by The Best Lawyers in America, and is regularly listed in Chambers USA “Leaders in Their Field” (2004-present), Texas Super Lawyers® (2003-present), IAM Patent 1000 (2012-2015), and as a Best Lawyer in Dallas by D Magazine (2003, 2005, 2007-present).
