Dallas – The law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to sponsor SMU Dedman School of Law’s (“SMU Law”) first-ever LawFit® Career Assessment Program. The customized, online self-assessment is designed to help law students make better career decisions.
“We are pleased to support SMU Law School’s effort to assist 1Ls with navigating the many opportunities that await them upon graduation,” said Jessica Hammons, Thompson & Knight’s Hiring Partner. “Evaluating your future after law school can be anxiety-inducing. With the career assessment program and the guidance of an advisor, students are better equipped to handle selecting their optimal career path.”
Prior to orientation, every incoming, first-year law student will receive a free LawFit Career Assessment. The results of the assessments will be used in conjunction with SMU Law’s orientation and throughout the school year to assist 1Ls with identifying career starting points by narrowing his or her potential career options from an overwhelming number to a more manageable number of choices that match his or her preferences.
“Thompson Knight always has been a strong supporter of our school and our students,” said Karen C. Sargent, Assistant Dean – SMU Dedman School of Law. “By partnering with us to offer our LawFit Career Assessment Program at no cost to our students, the Firm further demonstrates its commitment to helping students find employment in areas where they are likely to succeed.”
