Dallas – The law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce Michael “Mickey” Baden has joined the Firm’s Houston office as an Associate in the Corporate and Securities Practice Group.

Mr. Baden focuses his practice on domestic and international corporate and energy transactions. His experience includes mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures; onshore and offshore energy and infrastructure transactions; private equity investments; project development; and joint ventures. He received a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 2009 and a B.A. in Government and History from The University of Texas at Austin in 2004.
Mr. Baden has experience serving as Director of the Veterans Legal Initiative for The Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program (2009-2012); Judicial Clerk for The Honorable Jeff Brown, 55th District Court in Houston (2007); and Special Assistant for the Texas Secretary of State (2004-2006). He was awarded the 2012 State Bar of Texas J. Chrys Dougherty Award for Outstanding Legal Services Staff Attorney, the 2012 Houston Bar Association’s Award of Merit for Exemplary Service, and the 2011 State Bar of Texas President’s Award for “Dedication to Service.” He also is involved in professional organization. Mr. Baden is a member of the Board of Directors for The Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program, a member of The Texas Young Lawyers Association, and an Ambassador for the Houston Bar Association.
Prior to joining Thompson & Knight, he was an Associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in Houston.
