Dallas – Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce Jasmine S. Wynton has joined the Firm’s Dallas office as an Associate in the Trial Practice Group.
“Jasmine’s experience defending companies in an array of industries in nationwide litigation and her sharp focus on client service make her a welcome addition to our nationally recognized commercial litigation practice,” said Greg W. Curry, the Firm’s Trial Practice Leader.
Ms. Wynton represents clients in complex commercial disputes in state and federal courts, at the trial and appellate levels, with an emphasis in defending companies in state and federal False Claims Act qui tam actions, state and local tax disputes, and government investigations. She defends companies in complex, multistate, unclaimed property audits and advises clients on unclaimed property planning. In addition, she will represent clients in employment law matters at Thompson & Knight.
Also, Ms. Wynton is actively involved in professional and civic organizations. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Federal Bar Association, the Dallas Bar Association, and the Junior League of Dallas. She is a past director and current chair of the Membership Committee for the J.L. Turner Legal Association, and has been an associate member of the Patrick E. Higginbotham American Inn of Court. She is licensed to practice in New York and Texas.
She received a J.D. from Duke University School of Law in 2011 and a B.A., summa cum laude, in History with a minor in Drama from Spelman College in 2008. After graduating from law school, Ms. Wynton served as Briefing Attorney to the Honorable Chief Justice Wallace B. Jefferson in the Supreme Court of Texas (2011-2012) and as Law Clerk to the Honorable Sam A. Lindsay in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas – Dallas (2012-2013). Prior to joining Thompson & Knight, she was an Associate at Jones Day in Dallas.
