Alejandro F. Sánchez Mújica’s practice encompasses banking, restructurings, foreign investment, mergers and acquisitions, licensing, franchises, stock exchange, antitrust, and private investment funds.

Prior to joining Thompson & Knight, Alejandro was in-house counsel for one of the world’s largest glass producers for eight years; in-house counsel for a large Mexican conglomerate involved in the insurance, agrobiotechnology, telemarketing, financing, and construction areas for more than 11 years; and in-house counsel for another large Mexican corporation involved in the petrochemical, pharmaceutical, agribusiness, and pharmochemical industries for more than seven years.

  • Lead Counsel representing a biotech and agribusiness company in the design and implementation of joint venture alternatives to attract potential investors to help in the acquisition of real estate assets
  • Lead Counsel representing a Mexican cattle and meat packaging company gearing up a concurso proceeding
  • Lead Counsel representing a major wind developer in the sale of a 120MW wind farm as well as the structuring of its power sales agreements, lease agreements, right-of-way agreements, and shareholders agreements
  • Represented private Mexican and foreign investors in a sale of an office building for $205 million pesos
  • Lead Mexican Counsel representing a foreign agent of a bank syndicate in the out of court restructuring involving $3.1 billion pesos of debt
  • Represented one of the main investors of Grupo Gicsa, S.A.B. de C.V., with an equity participation of around $1.4 billion pesos, in its restructuring and IPO in the Mexican Stock Exchange
