Margaret Symonds focuses her practice on the representation of private and public companies in connection with acquisition and divestiture transactions as well as general corporate, finance, and securities matters. Margaret has more than 25 years of experience representing clients in the energy industry, including the pipeline, terminal, transport, and retail sectors, as well as the hospitality industry.

Representative Matters

  • Counsel to a private equity client requesting specific industry advice in connection with its proposed purchase of more than 200 “branded” retail fuel facilities in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma (including “branded” convenience stores and quick serve restaurants)
  • Representation of a master limited partnership in connection with the purchase of terminal, pipeline, and dock assets located in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Tennessee
  • Representation of a Fortune 10 energy company in connection with the sale of all of its “branded” retail fuel facilities across the United States
  • Representation of a private limited partnership operating steakhouse and seafood casual dining restaurants, including providing advice relating to day-to-day operating issues, financing matters, entity reorganization, appraisal and buyout of minority stakeholders, and the ultimate sale of the steakhouse and seafood units
  • Representation of a private limited partnership owning several seafood casual dining restaurants in connection with day-to-day matters and the ultimate sale of concept to a national hospitality entity
  • Representation of a real estate holding company in connection with its investment in a newly-formed joint venture to purchase locations and construct “branded” hotels in Austin, Texas
  • Representation of a multinational energy company in the sale of its lubricant asset division
  • Representation of a Fortune 10 energy company in connection with the sale of its catalyst regeneration business located in the United States, Europe, and Asia
  • Representation of a Fortune 10 energy company in connection with its sale of “branded” fuel additive assets and associated intellectual property
  • Representation of a privately held satellite communications company in connection with its general corporate matters, corporate reorganization, and private placements of secured debt
  • Representation of an energy company purchasing saltwater disposal wells in Oklahoma
  • Representation of a real estate investment partnership investing in medical imaging assets
  • Representation of a private equity firm selling manufacturing assets located in the United States and Eastern Europe
  • Representation of an oilfield services company in connection with its general corporate and securities law matters, including listing and securities law compliance, disclosure matters, and various merger and acquisition transactions
