Paul Stafford focuses his practice on civil litigation, torts, complex commercial and business litigation, and insurance policyholder and coverage litigation; he also has experience in intellectual property litigation, labor and employment, and corporate matters. Paul has tried more than 200 cases in his practice, including criminal, civil, and white collar as a defense attorney and as a former state prosecutor in two Texas counties; he has written and presented numerous articles, papers, and CLE presentations on insurance, e-discovery, and litigation.  Clients trust Paul with their most sensitive matters because of his ability to implement a comprehensive representation strategy that mitigates the collateral consequences that can be associated with complex civil and criminal matters.

  • Represented the State of Texas in multi-million-dollar organized criminal activity cases in Dallas County and the North Texas region
  • Successfully defended an alleged accomplice in an alleged fraud and counterfeiting scheme
  • Successfully represented a food wholesaler in a coverage dispute with an insurer regarding assertion of a pollution exclusion
  • Successfully represented individuals in a coverage and bad faith dispute with an insurer regarding a long-term care policy
  • Successfully represented a company in a business dispute involving the purchase of goods utilized in a production process
