Experience
Rich Wynne focuses his practice on intellectual property and counseling, as well as intellectual property licensing. His intellectual property litigation practice encompasses disputes regarding patents, copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, and other intellectual property rights. He also has experience in commercial litigation and counseling, including representation of aircraft manufacturers, airlines, and lessors in liability and indemnity disputes arising from aviation accidents.

Representative Matters
- Defended leading wireless handset manufacturer and telecommunications infrastructure-equipment company in patent-infringement lawsuit relating to cellular-transmission protocols in the Eastern District of Texas; obtained jury verdict of non-infringement and invalidity of all asserted patent claims
- Represented patent owner in infringement action on several patents relating to Power-over-Ethernet protocols, obtaining jury verdict of infringement and validity
- Represented patent owner in infringement suit involving power-management patents applicable to mobile devices; obtained settlement before trial after favorable claim construction
- Defended semiconductor developer in Section 337 proceeding in the U.S. International Trade Commission relating to bonding-pad technology; obtained initial determination of invalidity of all asserted patent claims
- Defended major semiconductor company in patent litigation relating to decoding of high definition video signals
- Defended international telecommunications-equipment company in patent-infringement action relating to asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) switching technology in the Eastern District of Texas
- Defended major semiconductor manufacturer in Section 337 proceedings before the U.S. International Trade Commission relating to manufacture of semiconductor devices; obtained determinations of no violation relating to seven patents
- Defended leading wireless handset maker in multiple patent-infringement actions relating to Internet-connected mobile devices in various courts
- Represented patentee in patent-infringement actions relating to audio and video encoding and decoding under H.264 standards
- Defended leading cellular-switch manufacturer in patent-infringement action relating to General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) protocols
- Defended international company in copyright-infringement action relating to management-training materials
- Represented manufacturer of ignition-interlock devices in litigation to prevent infringement of manufacturer’s trademarks
- Represented major commercial airline in insurance-coverage litigation resulting from the events of 9/11; matters settled in advance of trial
- Represented aircraft lessor in insurance-coverage litigation relating to the crash of leased aircraft in foreign country; obtained summary judgment in favor of coverage for client
