Rust Reid focuses his practice on estate planning, probate, and fiduciary administration. He primarily represents individuals and family groups seeking to plan the disposition of their estates in accordance with their wishes at the least tax cost. Rust also represents individuals and corporate fiduciaries in trust and estate administration, and private foundations and other organizations in connection with charitable gift-giving. He frequently acts as an expert witness in probate and trust disputes and has taught as an adjunct professor of law at Southern Methodist University.

  • Client counseling and representation in estate planning and probate law, including individual estate planning; preparation of wills, trusts, and related documents; insurance and property ownership planning; marital property planning; and representation in the administration of estates and trusts

  • Representation of clients in probate and other courts involved in the probate of wills and estates, and representation of clients in litigation relating to probate or fiduciary law matters

  • Counseling and representation of clients in connection with federal income tax matters, including estate and trust taxation, personal income tax planning, and family and closely held business planning with an emphasis on tax and estate planning matters

  • Representation and counseling of corporate fiduciaries in all aspects of fiduciary administration and probate law

  • Mediation in probate and trust disputes

  • General representation of individual and corporate clients
