T&K Expands Tax Practice

Dallas - The law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce Meagan Horn has joined the Firm’s Dallas office as Counsel in the Tax Practice Group.

“Meagan is a welcome addition to our Tax team,” said Todd Keator, Chair of the Firm’s Tax Practice Group. “Her strong tax controversy and corporate experience will be an asset to our clients.”

Ms. Horn focuses her practice on federal and state tax controversies, with particular emphasis in the oil, gas, and energy industry and on companies facing issues involving complex debt. She represents clients ranging from large public companies to individuals in various stages of tax controversies, from planning for upcoming audits, through administrative hearings and appeals, as well as litigation. Her experience also includes structuring and analysis of private equity transactions, tax planning advice on mergers and acquisitions, and financings via both taxable and tax-exempt bond markets.

Ms. Horn’s previous work experience includes serving as Associate General Tax Counsel of Vistra Energy Corp., formerly Energy Future Holdings Corp., and as an Associate at Vinson & Elkins LLP. She received her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2006 and a B.S. in Mathematics, with highest honors, from The University of Texas at Austin in 2003.
