T&K Partner Elected to Dallas Children’s Theater Board of Directors

Dallas - The law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to announce Michael W. Stockham has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Dallas Children’s Theater, a non-profit organization that endeavors to inspire young people to creative and productive lives through the art of theater. He will serve a three-year term and was appointed to the Nominations and Governance Committee.

Mr. Stockham is a Partner in Thompson & Knight’s Trial Practice Group in the Firm’s Dallas office. His practice focuses, both in and out of the boardroom and courtroom, on  helping companies and individuals navigate the complex world of litigation and government regulation and enforcement. He provides counsel in such areas as corporate governance, corporate compliance, fraud and breach of fiduciary duty, shareholder rights, securities fraud, class actions, merger litigation, partnership and corporate disputes, qui tam litigation defense, and white collar defense for companies and individual executives. Mr. Stockham is a Certified Fraud Examiner, certified by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Recognized for his legal work, Mr. Stockham has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® (2018) by Woodward/White Inc., Texas Super Lawyers® (2013-2017) and Texas Rising Stars® (2009-2012) both by Thomson Reuters, and Best Lawyers in Dallas (2015-2017) by D Magazine. In addition to his involvement with the Dallas Children’s Theater, Mr. Stockham served as President (2014-2015), the Young Lawyers Division Coordinator (2009-2010), Membership Chair (2010-2011), Secretary (2011-2012), Vice President (2012-2013), and President-Elect (2013-2014) of the Federal Bar Association - Dallas. He is a member of the American, New York, Texas, and Dallas Bar Associations; a member of the Texas Association of Defense Counsel; a Life Fellow of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers Foundation; and a Fellow of The College of the State Bar of Texas. Also, he served in leadership roles for Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas, March of Dimes’ March for Babies, and the Writers’ League of Texas.

Dallas Children’s Theater was founded in 1984 in response to the growing need for professional family theater. The organization is a forum for artistic collaboration, a vital educational resource for metropolitan schools, and a vehicle of enrichment for the greater Dallas community. With a multi-million-dollar budget and a national audience, Dallas Children’s Theater is the largest professional family theater in the Southwest.
